Shawn Brayman, currently serves on the board of directors for the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals in the country, and includes many others who support the financial planning process.
Brayman is the founder and president of PlanPlus Inc., a private Canadian company that has provided investment planning and financial planning software solutions to financial advisers for over 25 years. In the last decade PlanPlus had become the preeminent global financial planning solution with users in over 30 countries and now in 10 languages.
Brayman has a B.Sc. in Applied and Computational Mathematics and a Master’s Degree from York University focusing on Predictive Expert Systems. He completed the Chartered Financial Planning program in Canada in 1997 and has been working with financial planners and firms around the globe ever since, gaining a unique understanding of this industry and emergent profession.
In 2007, Brayman was awarded the Financial Frontiers Award by the Journal of Financial Planning for best original research for his work on stochastic modeling. In 2011, he received the “Best Paper Award” by the Academy of Financial Services for his research on risk capacity.
A frequent speaker at industry events on topics of financial planning best practices, research, and practice management, Brayman has presented to financial planners and the general public in countires throughout North America and the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
